A Flawed Silver Lining

Baby’s first record! Something I feel very proud of, yet also wish I would’ve spent just a bit more time on. Mostly just wish I made the first 1 minute and 9 seconds actually substantial and mean something (sorry Just A Second, you were just made in 2 weeks after realizing the album would start to abruptly otherwise). But was very proud, happy and relieved to finally have my first project be out. I really did have a case of the “My discography needs to be clean and perfect”, but have realized that’s not how it necessarily worked.

I’m not saying I think it’s a bad record, not at all! I feel very proud of the lyrics of songs of like Feel Like Home, Truly and Trying; I think these all serve an important purpose in this overall story(?!) that is being told.
I really do feel fond of the overall production of this; the mix of a simple yet effective Independent Pop. Taught to Live Life was a hard one to develop as I really did want it on the record, but knew it was quite different to the rest. Quite happy how it turned out! Fun little fact: that piano was done in one take from my head and was the first piece of the puzzle to figuring out the song.
